Chronology
Charles, a retiree, gets a new chance at life when he answers an ad from a private detective and becomes a mole in an undercover investigation at a nursing home. Based on the Chilean documentary El Agente Topo. A remake of the film Salainen agentti vanhainkodissa (2020). I’m not the type of person who likes to watch series back to back, but we watched the entire season on our first night. The series has the right mix of warmth, humor, sadness and depth, and its plot keeps you glued to the screen. Ted Danson is great, of course, but Stephanie Beatriz (Diaz in ’99) is amazing and her character is someone you want to spend all your time with. The action takes place in San Francisco, which of course helps my rating, but above all, although it’s very sad at times, it’s a comedy that gives you hope for the future as we all get older. For me, a solid eight out of ten, a show for all ages, and who knows, maybe there will be another season.
